How To Add a Site to the Taskbar with IE9 [GUIDE]

Internet Explorer 9 Beta has a nifty feature that allows you to add a bookmark of a site on your taskbar like as if it were a Desktop App. This feature helps you to easily get to a website you use often. Read on to find out how to do it.

1. Open IE9 and visit the Website you are looking to add to the taskbar.

2. Click on the tools icon on the top-right and choose File > ‘Add site to Start menu’.

3. Click ‘Add’ on the confirmation that pops up.

4. Now you will see that the favicon of the site you intended to add has appeared on the taskbar. Many users tend to leave it at this stage and the icon disappears once you close the window. Make sure that you right click the icon and choose ‘Pin this program to taskbar’ to retain it forever.

Certain websites like twitter when added to the taskbar display additional options like leaving a new Tweet/DM, etc.
