6 Must-have Google Chrome Extensions for Students

Statistics reveal that majority of Google Chrome’s users are a relatively younger audience. If you are a student and use Chrome for your everyday browsing – We’ve got you covered. Check out the list below for 6 Extensions you should try!

Quickrr Research:

Quickrr

As a student, you will have to do a lot of research to write your book reports or your paper for the semester. This nifty extension helps you search a query in multiple search engines/sources thereby saving you a lot of time.

Dictionary

This is one of my favourite extensions on Chrome. Highlight a word for which you need to know the meaning and hit the dictionary button.

This extension aims to prevent you from getting distracted on the internet. If you’ve become obsessed with certain websites to an extent that they have started hampering your productivity – It’s time to install this extension. You can block particular sites under a domain like mashable.com/tech whilst allowing mashable.com

Remind Me

A student’s life is full of deadlines and to help you get over them easily, RemindMe reminds you about things you’ve mentioned it earlier. It also features a countdown timer which might make certain users enthusiastic about completing their tasks/goals.

Time Tracker

This extension is somewhat similar to StayFocusd, except the fact that it doesn’t block sites. Time Tracker tells you the exact amount of time you spend on each website so that you can stay on schedule and get things done.

Wikipedia

It’s really difficult to get into Wikipedia.org every time you need to look up something. To avoid this process; Wikipedia Companion gets you a little dialog box near the address bar where you can search topics on Wikipedia while not leaving the current page or opening a new tab.

I believe that most of the students reading this can relate to situations like getting distracted online and so on. If you have got anything to add to my list above, feel free to make use of the comments section. I believe that the list above will also be useful for productivity freaks.
