Windows 7 lets you use multiple images for your desktop background. In other words, you can have a Wallpaper Slideshow with images changing at regular intervals which you define. This feature is pretty useful if you hate a static desktop background that will stay for days. However, If you use Windows XP or Vista, this feature is not built into your version of Windows. In this post, I am going to guide you towards using a slideshow of images as your desktop background in a Windows XP or Vista PC.
Start by downloading the Power Toys Wallpaper Changer for Windows XP. (It should work with Windows Vista as well). After installing the software, you should see an interface like the one in the screenshot below.
You can now select a bunch of pictures you love and put them in a folder. Then, point the folder to this program and hit apply. By default, the Wallpaper changes ever 30 minutes, but you can change it to your preference. There is also an option to display a set of wallpapers on a particular calendar day. The program is pretty straightforward and you should be able to figure it out without any trouble.
Though this program is built for Windows XP, it should also work on Windows Vista. If you face issues, you can always use the compatibility mode and change it to Windows XP.
