How to activate HTTPS on your Twitter account?

Facebook recently announced the ability to access their website on HTTPS for everyone and it looks like Twitter isn’t far behind.

If you are using Twitter, you can now force it to load using the HTTPS protocol all the time. This ensures security and if you are accessing the interwebs from those places which block awesome sites like Twitter, you might stand a chance to be able to secretly access it with HTTPS.

Here’s what you have to do in order to force Twitter to use HTTPS whenever you login.

Settings - Twitter

  • Go to Settings and navigate to Account

Twitter - Accounts - HTTPS

  • Scroll down to the bottom and check ‘Always use HTTPS’ and you are done. You will be asked your password for confirmation, though.

From now on, whenever you use Twitter you will be directed to the HTTPS version.
