5 Killer Chrome Extensions that work with Google Plus

Google Plus has been around for some time now and I’ve begun liking it although it’s still not ready to entirely replace Facebook or Twitter. In this short duration, developers have built super-awesome extensions to improve your experience with plus. Without much ado, let’s take a look at some of the best extensions that work with Google Plus.

Fixed Top Bar for Google Plus:

Google Plus Fixed Top Bar

As the screenshot suggests, the black nav bar and the Google Plus bar below it stays visible on the screen even after you keep scrolling through the content. I find this really useful and feel that this should become a feature in Google Plus itself.

Usability Boost for Google Plus:

This extension makes subtle changes to Google Plus’s site to make the content more readable. It also changes the background from white to something different so that information on your newsfeed gets highlighted.

This extension also fixes the top bar like the one we just saw. If you’ve been shying away from Google Plus because of it’s interface, you should give this one a try.

Google +1 Button:

Plus One

Not all websites (including ours) have employed a +1 button and if you are passionate about using it instead of Facebook’s like, this extension is tailor-made for you. It adds a little +1 button at the address bar of the browser, thereby enabling you to +1 any content on the Internet.

+1 & Like extension is a good alternative that enables you to recommend web pages if you are active both on Google Plus and Facebook.

Google Plus Photo Zoom:

Photo Zoom

This is something most of us are familiar with. When you see a photo in thumbnail view on Google Plus, you don’t have to click through it to see the high-res version, all you need to do is hover the pointer over it and the extension shows you the full resolution image.

Check out Facebook Photo Zoom if you haven’t already.

Extended Share for Google Plus:

Have something interesting over at Google Plus which you want your other friends to see? This extension adds a share option below every post in your newsfeed from which you can share the same to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Very nifty, right?

That’s it from me. If you think a there’s a similar extension that’s worth featuring, leave a comment below and enlighten us all!
