Firefox 14 to Get PDF Support Built Right In [Quick Update]

Great news for Firefox fans! Firefox is finally getting built-in PDF support. This means, you don't have to deal with out-of-date browser plugins to be able to view PDF files from inside the browser windows. Chrome got PDF support back in November 2010 and from the looks of it, Firefox is still playing catch-up, but it's good to know that they're moving in the right direction when it comes to dealing with PDF files.

Viewing Pending Friend Requests on Facebook

A bunch of readers mailed me asking if there’s a page where you can view all of the pending friends requests at once and take action – like deleting the request or otherwise and since quite a few people offline ask me the same question, I thought addressing it with a blog post would be ideal.

Firstly, there is NO page on Facebook where you can find the status of your friend requests (as of 3rd March 2012, at the least). But, you can always see the status of the request by visiting the person’s timeline where you can find one of the following buttons depending on the connection between you two.

  • Friends
  • Friend Request Sent / Awaiting friend confirmation
  • Add Friend

If you ever see 3rd party apps claiming to do so, proceed with caution.

I’m Not Excited About Windows 8–Here’s Why

Windows 8 Consumer Preview (or rather the public BETA) came out today and I’m not really that excited about it and I don’t think any desktop power user will be. This date, sadly, can be marked down as the demise of the desktop OS; while Microsoft isn’t the first to do any damage, their software is used by more users when compared to that of Apple’s. Here’s a glimpse at (what I think) happened and will happen.
