3 Sites to Buy Books Online

Internet has changed the way we live, from shopping to looking for diagnosis regarding issues with our health. Keeping that in mind, it would be a pity to visit book shops. In this post, I am going to discuss about 3 websites that will help you easily procure books online.

This is my favorite shopping portal. They have an immense collection of books and you can find virtually any book you are looking for. Their USP is free shipping with COD for orders placed above Rs.100. You can avail the COD facility even if your order is below hundred rupees. Most of the deliveries are done within 3-4 business days and I have used Flipkart about 4 times now. They have recently introduced the Movies, Music, Games and Mobiles section and I am planning to buy my next mobile from Flipkart. (And PS. Mobiles come with transit insurance). Flipkart offers discounts for most of the products on their site.

This is the site which introduced the Indian eBook reader ‘Infibeam-pi’. They also have a free-shipping facility, but, they do not offer the COD facility. This could be inconvenient for users who do not possess a credit/debit card or a PayPal account. The service is good and I received my book in 4 days. They also sell computers, mobile phones, clothes, etc.

Landmark is a very popular bookstore and in the past, I was able to find many rare books at landmark. This website comes with the brand and the credibility of Landmark and offers similar services like the sites mentioned above. They also sell Movies, Music, Toys, Gift cards and more. I have personally not used Landmark on the net before, though I have visited Landmark often. Relatively, Buying at this website looks a bit expensive.

Bottom Line:
At this moment, Flipkart looks like the deal breaker since you spend less when compared to ‘actual’ shopping and other websites. Infibeam is a good choice but, it needs to build an extensive collection of books. If you are going to buy the Infibeam Pi or Phi you will have to use their website only. Landmark, though expensive offers many books which are not available with others. I’d recommend buying from the Landmark Bookstore rather than Landmark on the net.

If you know some good sites where you have been shopping, why not share the knowledge? Use the comment option below.
